Covid vaccination

Vaccinations at the 13 Club in Alsager are only happening when vaccine is available.  The available vaccine is being divided between the Alsager and Middlewich sites, with Alsager operating Friday – Monday (including over the weekend) and Middlewich mid week.  I suspect this will all be liable to change as vaccine availability changes.

Invitations for over 75s have started to be issued.

Covid 19

As you know we are all still in lockdown 3.  Basically, stay at home.

In the 7 days to 16 January the picture has reversed for Alsager with Alsager West worse than Alsager East.  But there are still new cases everywhere. Nevertheless, the big picture is that cases are reducing.  Here are the figures:

Alsager East – 12 new cases, down 15 (-55%), rolling rate 183 (was 413 week to 9 January)
Alsager West – 18 new cases, up 2 (12%), rolling rate 317 (was 281 week to 9 January)
Cheshire East – rolling rate 327 (was 409)
England – rolling rate 484 (was 622)

Cheshire East Covid information session – 9 February

You are invited to attend Cheshire East Councils upcoming online Covid-19 information and scams awareness session.

Criminals are using the Covid-19 pandemic as an opportunity to exploit and defraud members of our communities. The fraudsters are using the uncertainty around peoples financial situations, their loneliness and isolation and the vaccination rollout to profit illegally. In order to try and combat these crimes and to support our community to feel/be safe, our session will focus on the scams which have seen an increase during the pandemic, how to spot them, where to report them and the support available to victims. We will be highlighting the work being carried out in our communities by some of our teams and partners. We will cover the vaccination rollout and provide trusted sources of information on Covid-19 topics, so that everyone can keep up to date with the latest information. You will have the option to ask our speakers questions and following the session we will send you an email detailing the various pieces of information we cover.

Access to Borrow Pit

Following Storm Christophe a tree blocked the entrance to the Borrow Pit (off Hassall Road, just before the recycling centre).  Passable with care.

A Vision for Alsager Town Centre

In a few weeks the Town Council will be starting a virtual consultation on a vision for Alsager town centre.  There will be a full leaflet drop, proposals available online and a survey to complete either on line or on paper.  A report of the Town Council meeting where this was discussed is available  here  (Alsager Nub News website).  It also gives access to some of the proposals.

There will be more about this once the consultation is officially launched.
