Council Tax for 2021/22

Cheshire East Council has released its final draft of the authority's Medium Term Financial Strategy (MTFS), which lays out the borough's spending and tax plans from 2021-25.
It shows that council chiefs are planning to raise council tax by 4.99 per cent -- the maximum allowed by the government, including a three per cent precept for adult social care -- meaning a Band D property would pay £1,579.03 over 12 months.

Big Garden Bird Watch

Remember it is this weekend – 29-31 January. Spend an hour watching and recording the birds you see in your garden. Obtain identification sheets and record your results here.

2021 Census

The 2021 census will be going ahead with a census date of Sunday 21 March. This will primarily be online for the first time. Households across the country will receive letters with online codes allowing them to take part from early March. The results (anonymised) will be available within 12 months.

The census is important so that all organisations (government, local authorities, charities) can put funding and services where they are needed most.

Domestic abuse

We know that the risk of domestic abuse has been significantly increased during this pandemic. You can access a leaflet above which will describe how you can find support.

Long covid clinics

Nine new long covid clinics have been established in the North West, though it is not clear where these are. The new centres bring together doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists to offer physical and psychological assessments and refer patients to the right treatment and rehabilitation services. Patients can access services if they are referred by a GP or another healthcare professional.

Covid vaccination

Alsager Pharmacy has become one of the first to distribute the Covid-19 vaccination in the area. The pharmacy located on Lawton Road, which is now set up as a vaccination centre, began administering jabs on 23 January.

The vaccination centre features dedicated patient car park facilities and Alsager Pharmacy have strict Covid-19 safety measures in place, ready to welcome the thousands of patients that have been referred by the NHS, to receive the vaccination.

The pharmacy is still running as normal for patients to access everyday services.
If you have received your NHS referral letter and live in the Alsager area, you can now book your vaccination with Alsager Pharmacy.

Cedars Medical Centre has confirmed they have vaccinated 96% of their care home residents.

Covid 19

As you know we are all still in lockdown 3. Basically, stay at home.
