Cheshire East Council has agreed to a proposal which will give each councillor £4,200 at their disposal to tackle highway maintenance issues such as potholes. As Alsager has three councillors this would amount to £12,600. The aim is to enable more rapid response to issues raised by councillors. There is some objection that rural, single-member wards would lose out. The scheme will be reviewed from 2022/23.
This group is convened by Alsager Partnership and they are working on proposals to refurbish the skate facility in Milton Park and have produced two online surveys. They would really like to hear your views as a resident, and particularly the views of young people who use the skate park.
If you know any frequent users of the amenity can you please alert them to these surveys and encourage them to complete them. The group needs to know how important the skate park is to them and what changes they would like to see. Here is the link.

Good News for Alsager! We are now able to offer a limited number of Lateral Flow Covid-19 tests at Alsager Civic, thanks to our new team of fully trained volunteer testers, in conjunction with Cheshire East Council and Alsager Town Council.
The tests are strictly for people who have NO COVID-19 symptoms and are available by appointment only, with results after just 30 minutes.
If you live in Alsager, Church Lawton, Rode Heath or Scholar Green, and would benefit from being tested – maybe you are supporting a vulnerable person, or are unable to work from home – please email LFTalsager@gmail.com for an appointment.
At present appointments are available on the mornings of Thursday 18th and Monday 22nd February.
There are due to be four vaccination clinics in Alsager next week (Friday 26 am, Saturday 27 am and pm, and Sunday 28 am).
GP Practices are currently focussing on the vaccination of people aged 16 – 64 who are clinically vulnerable. As a result, if you are over 65 you may experience a long wait to be vaccinated at your local GP Vaccination Clinic.
If you are over 65 and haven't yet had your coronavirus vaccine, you can do this now by contacting the national booking service via www.nhs.uk/covidvaccination or by calling 119. By contacting the national booking service you will gain access to flexible appointments at other local vaccination services 7 days per week from 9am – 11pm.
Further details about local vaccination services are available here.
