The First Aid course is run twice a year. Course one is September/October; course two is February/March. Each of the courses is 4 weeks long. Week 1 covers body systems & recovery position practice; week 2 covers responses to an unconscious casualty including CPR; week 3 covers choking, strokes, diabetes & dementia; week 4 covers bleeding, fractures, burns & scalds. Members will need to wear comfortable clothing; ladies should wear trousers. Some sessions will include first aid practice on the floor (recovery position). You will also practice bandaging on each other. There is a welcome tea break half way through the session.
