Local control of highway maintenance

With thanks to Alsager Nub News

Cheshire East Council has agreed to a proposal which will give each councillor £4,200 at their disposal to tackle highway maintenance issues such as potholes. As Alsager has three councillors this would amount to £12,600. The aim is to enable more rapid response to issues raised by councillors. There is some objection that rural, single-member wards would lose out. The scheme will be reviewed from 2022/23.

Alsager Connected Communities Youth Group

This group is convened by Alsager Partnership and they are working on proposals to refurbish the skate facility in Milton Park and have produced two online surveys. They would really like to hear your views as a resident, and particularly the views of young people who use the skate park.

If you know any frequent users of the amenity can you please alert them to these surveys and encourage them to complete them. The group needs to know how important the skate park is to them and what changes they would like to see. Here is the link.

At present appointments are available on the mornings of Thursday 18th and Monday 22nd February.
