Hall Farm Shop Café

From Facebook

Lots of our customers have been asking about the Cafe, so we thought it was time to share our plans. Our neighbours Zoo2U Discovery Centre are moving out at the end of 2021 and as soon as we can get the space ready, our new tenants will be moving in to open 'The Courtyard Cafe'.

The new business venture is being opened by Jane, who has been one of our cooks and a valuable member of our team for a number of years and her friend Tracy. Together they have many years experience in Hospitality and Catering. Hall Farm Shop Butchery will be supplying them with our quality raw and cooked meat products so please be assured that you can expect the same great quality of food.

We will keep you updated and thank you for your continued support.

Christmas lights switch on

With thanks to Alsager Chronicle

I previously reported that there would be no switch on event this Christmas because Cheshire East would not permit such a crowded event on their land. However, the Round Table have been in behind-the-scenes discussion with Cheshire East, who have eased some restrictions, and it is hoped, nay expected, that there will be some kind of event. Watch this space.

Road repairs

With thanks to Alsager Chronicle

At a recent meeting of the Cheshire East Highways Committee the Chair, Councillor Craig Browne, stated that £30 million a year was needed to maintain the present network while they are receiving only £15 million this year from the Department for Transport. Using the government's calculation formula, the 1700 miles of carriageway in Cheshire East would have a replacement cost of about £6 billion. At this rate of funding he calculated it would take 400 years to repair the whole of the Cheshire East network. All members of the committee voted to write to the government demanding more funding. They also acknowledged that pot hole repairs are only ever a temporary solution to keep the road open and safe, but they are prone to breaking up quickly.

Town Council offices

With thanks to Alsager Chronicle

Alsager Town Council have decided to continue to keep the offices closed, at least until after Christmas. Residents can continue to contact the council via phone or email, and also make appointments.

Hospital crutches

Cedars Medical Centre from Facebook

Leighton Hospitals Accident and Emergency department are asking for any unused crutches to be returned asap as there is currently a national shortage due to a supplier issue.
If you could please place them into the marked cage by the main door in Accident and Emergency, they would be extremely grateful.

This morning I went to Alsager Pharmacy without any appointment and was able to have both my Covid booster and my flu jab. Excellent service.
