Interest groups are at the centre of U3A. Run by members, they provide a way of sharing interests, passing on knowledge and exploring new topics. All that is needed is enthusiasm, a desire to share and to learn. We hope you will find topics of interest in the groups below. If you have a subject that you would like to share with others then new groups are always welcome and help will be given if you want to set up a new group.
We have 50 interest groups, keeping our members' physical and mental fitness in tip-top condition. And every one of these groups work on the same principle: run by the members, for the members. It's such a friendly and informal way of sharing interests, passing on knowledge and exploring new hobbies – it's no wonder, there are U3As set up all over the country!

Photographic Appreciation:This involves walking around Alsager finding interesting images and learning how the composition of a photo can make a difference to the end result.

Poetry:The group will explore modern and contemporary poetry focusing on an agreed poet/topic. With some input from members the poem can be read to the group and discussed.

Cryptic Crosswords for Beginners:Have you ever wanted to complete a cryptic crossword. Come along to this informal group to learn the tricks and tips to help you succeed.
